Scriptural Foundation: Courage
Psalm 31:23-24 (KJV):"O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord."
Breaking It Down
The word “preserveth” (Merriam-Webster) means “to keep safe from injury, harm, or destruction.”
But who are the faithful? In this context, being faithful means being full of faith and trustful, not just trustworthy.
The passage tells us that:
God preserves the faithful and rewards the proud doer—not just any doer, but those who act with confidence and gratitude.
Courage is a choice. Just as choosing fear is a choice, so is choosing to live courageously.
Strength comes after courage. God strengthens our hearts after we decide to step forward in faith.
God’s word is clear—He will act. It’s not a possibility but a certainty!
